The picture on the left is a Hi-Tech hard sail Land Sailor. It is named "Magic" and I believe it belongs to Phil Rothrock. This picture was taken at Alvord dry lake over Memorial day 97. It is a beautiful and fast Yacht. I hope my drool did not leave any permanent stains. The picture on the right is a small custom yacht built by Clarence Rothrock (now deceased and missed), called Tumbleweed. Lewis Rothrock now owns this yacht.
The picture on the left is a two person yacht where the pilot sets in the rear and the passenger sets in front of the mast. Also note the novel application of a conventional boom with a wind surf sail. In this picture I am driving and the owner was the passenger. I really liked the way the yacht handled, the added weight in front made it steer wonderfully well. It also felt like it was fast. The picture on the right is this same yacht laid over so you can get a better look.
