El Mirage lake on Saturday morning at the start of BBT III. Dean Jordan and Freeman set up their camp the night before. They awoke in the morning surrounded by water.
This is Ute Nissen from Germany. She is the European Buggy race champion. Ute and her husband have developed a new traction kite. It has only four vented cells, two each side of the center about a third of the way toward the wing tip. Internal cross venting holes have a flap sewn across them that acts as a sort of check valve to hold in the air once the kite is inflated. I test flew the kite and was impressed with its performance. The small area devoted to inflation leaves the rest of the leading edge very smooth.
With El Mirage covered with water, I opted to go to Ivanpaugh. This is a picture taken there of my wifes Buggy converted to a mini landsailer. I took a 3.5 meter sail and rigged it to a "Scooter" by WindTools buggy. It performed very well and was a lot of fun.
Another picture from Ivanpaugh. My newest acquistion, a wood and metal land sailer made by Rich Crnich of Bend Ore. I fitted a 6.7 meter sail to it as seen in this picture. It provides a very comfortable ride, I like it a lot.
