Kite Spar Manufacturing Methods

KITE SOFTWARE

I have written software for the beginning kitemaker. This software is written in basic and contains 5 basic delta stunt kites and two quadline kites. These basic designs can be scaled larger or smaller, they allow changes to the aspect ratio and sail billow or depth. The program asks the user to input the leading edge length the nose half angle and the amount of billow for the sail. The program then calculates all the dimensions for the candidate kite.

KITES.ZIP This is the kite software and can be downloaded by clicking on the hi-lighted text.

A Basic Interpreter You will need this or one of your own to run the program. When you have downloaded both files go to the directory they are in and type "gwbasic kites" and the program should run.

Wnkite20.zip This is a Windows version of the kites.bas program. It was ported to visual basic by Mark DeScalzo with some good additions and deletions in keeping with Windows look programs. Good work Mark! Just download and unzip, instructions for installation are contained in a readme .txt file.
